CORE REACTOR (Tammy wrote this for Adam)

slow spin un-navigated
rolling through the dark
damaged at best
from deep inside cold hollow halls
metallic to the touch
a single beacon flashed
red the glowing pulse
slow like the last ember of a fire
specks of crystallized dust
formed around each gash
every cut and dent
no life signs detected
and onward it rolled near death
in a cold and silent emptiness
becoming its own tomb
enclosed microchip processor
memories held within
time no longer counted
time no longer cared
the bled out core reactor
slowly flashed as in the last moments
unseen or acknowledged
and the orbit took it around
from darkness into the sun
the heat was enough to burn
metal groaned and screeched
popping to deformity
then the sun moved out away
and a new form in mass appeared
magnetic fields pulled with vigor
and the metal mass was forced
in a thrust it hurdled down
faster and faster it spun
out of darkness into light and color
life and breath existed in this space
and with a great collision
shattering sound dug into the earth
then quiet as it finally settled
had it been heard?
had it been noticed?
had it simply found a new grave
where once it had spun aimlessly before?
nothing
nothing moved
nothing made a sound
flashing inside the core
the red glow slowly faded
darkness fell again
was this eternity?
and then the air moved
and it made sound across the metal
whispering whistles
it played in low tones and split tones
the air moved with great rushes
and liquid fell from above
lights flashed overhead
booming crashes filled the air
and the air moved again
and the sun came out
and it was still far, but not burning
the warmth settled on the windows of the hollowed halls
creaks and cracks could be heard in the distance
a shuffling of ground
a rustling of dirt and snaps
then life appeared outside the door
the signs were unmistakable
and across the welded door and window
a hand moved
wiping away mud and small debris
and two eyes peered through
one, two, more gashes made
and the life form entered
steps on bending metal platforms
questioning movements forward or back
and soon into the center, into the heart
small touches to cosmetic pains
amazement filling inside
wonderstruck and awe
falling to his knees
one hand to brace him
then it is noticed
then it is seen
the glowing ember barely visible
unable to stop
he reaches out to touch
each wound around it
catapulted in his mind
cryptic lost messages
sporadic images in fast repetitive state
all engulf his view
the last torturous moments are expelled into him
his tears burn red hot in his eyes
falling down his cheeks in disbelief
and the ember starts to grow
the glow fills the room
it continues to brighten with each tear cried
from red to gold it glows
from gold to white
and the man can see no more
he has become blind
his heart filled with sadness and empathy
yet he feels warmth
he feels it hot against his cheek
and the heat comes in the form of a kiss
soft and not metallic
welcoming and not afraid
healing his vision
and in his green eyes is reflected
the blue eyes looking back
the color of the heavens in the sun
oceans of love beaming from within
he staggers to his feet
to look down upon the core of all his desires
peace like none on earth
eternity of love
gentleness and passion
yet timidity and fear still held
this being from fullness of light
she held her warm hand to the core of his chest
he placed his hand upon the core pulsing from within her
and light filled the whole of the ship and out beyond
he removed his hand and she saddened
he replaced it and brightness stretched far
with held gaze of her eyes
he took her hand
they walked into the day
he watched in happy glory
she ran from the newness of this to that
never before knowing a world with love
every moment logged into memory
her core shone brightly
and the warmth of the sun fell
behind horizons it waned
and she looked with questioning gaze
not a word was spoken
none needing to be said
he took her into arms
walking to a place of shelter
cold night air brushed her skin
he took her under cover
and warmed her from within
and each touch shared
he saw all she had seen
and as he cried he loved her
and made love to her again
the core reactor in side
matched in beat to his
the rhythm pounded out terrors
and exploded into the night
nearly as bright as day
together they became one core reactor
same purpose for life in goal
driven by the same pulse
and carried out the reaction to the world

Coffee and Kisses ( Tammy wrote this for Adam-he admitted to making his eyes tear up)

The window reflected a younger man in memory as the steam from the coffee cup fogged one square pane of glass. A smaller figure with an age spotted hand reached out from behind him and drew a familiar “x” and an “o” in the condensation. It was a familiar signature to him.
“Good morning”, she said as she leaned in for a small kiss on his lips.
He turned to look at his wife. Raising his hand to touch her face, he remembered the soft fair skin and darker hair of her youth; even through the years she had remained beautiful, wrinkles and all.
The drawings on the window faded and he was reminded that he was alone. Only the kisses from memory and her empty coffee cup hanging on the rack on the kitchen wall.
He swallowed back the tears with a drink from his mug and moved from the table to the kitchen sink. How old this house was, even older than he and how much they had put into building it into a home. All those days replayed in his head of standing in the kitchen and sitting at the table talking of the plans they had over a hot cup of coffee. She never seemed to be able to resist getting in a few kisses somehow. She loved being close to him and he loved that about her.
As the years rolled on they had their ups and downs, yet nothing that couldn’t be settled over a good talk, cup of coffee and ending in those sweet and sometimes fevered kisses.
He chuckled to himself as he rinsed off the few breakfast dishes, remembering the day she swore she could figure how to change out the line for the water filter. She had drowned herself in the process. She had been so sexy standing there in wet shirt, stringing hair, face dripping. He had put his coffee cup on the table and laughingly gone over to her. Teasing her efforts and seeing she was becoming irritated by it, he had kissed her full on the mouth. This led to a passionate excursion on the wet, cold floor, interrupted by kids busting in from school to grab a quick afternoon snack.
Smiling he refilled his coffee mug and got ready to start working on another project. She was no longer there to come out and see the new idea he was getting going.
The kids were grown and gone, so he had a lot more “busy work” these days, work to keep him from thinking too much on what the heart was missing.
He situated the cap on his head and zipped up his coveralls, heading out to the barn. It was a cold, gray morning. He looked back at the kitchen window, sighed with a smile and then turning around walked on through the brown grass.
Back in the kitchen a small area of the window fogged up and an “x’ and “o” appeared inside the square pane of glass.

The Ancient Princess (Adam wrote this for Tammy)

She rode for centuries, hastened to love, never wilting in the oppressive heat of those souls that failed her. She rode her gilt-edged wings of joy and banished the darkness that stalked her every move. She rode without fear, forearmed with love and faith, confident that her tyrannical pursuer had no idea of her majestic power; she pitied the lost ones.
Happy in purity of spirit and peace of mind she soared above all doubt, loving the freedom from pain it afforded her. Confidently she manoeuvred the cloud into rafts, with which sent her words to the world; words of love and wisdom were heard and adored.
The legend of the Ancient Princess reverberated throughout all worlds, all kingdoms knew of her, heralded her as their Queen; though she wanted no such title.
There was no place to rule over save her mind.
Her heart longed an equal to mate, she had known this from the dawn of her existence, compelled she flew.

Forged from rough splinters of the universe, the meteor made straight course for Earth’s ancient land. Cocooned deep within the meteor laid Carbide, bound by the ice and granite, he remained dormant and cold. Traversing space at speeds that curved time, the meteor raced on a collision course with the Ancient planet. At length it gathered momentum and velocity, kinetically charged it tore the universe in two, like a wind-blown sail it cracked violently in the meteor’s wake. Then on that day it entered Earth’s warming glaze, intense friction generating white flames that stripped the meteor’s outer shell, revealing an oxide blue that refracted all light around its mass, the hue of which had never been seen by ancient souls afore this day.
Tornados and typhoons were born in the aftermath of the meteor’s epic flight. Carbide heard their evil laughs whilst he lay bound in his granite cell. Emotions that had been explicitly denied, now felt the gravity, pulling Carbide’s eyelids open. Where darkness had enveloped his soul, the bright blue electrical storm that encircled him now, gave inertia for the heart’s engagement.
The Ancient Princess could see the strange blue light coming her way and felt the presence of love like she’d never felt before. So strong it felt. Intoxicated and confused her course lacked precision, detouring with magnetism towards the blue entity that held her so bedazzled.
Carbide felt her presence, though he knew nothing like it, he knew he recognised it’s beauty and his eye’s wept tears of molten silver; which purified the granite it lapped, a mirrored skin was created.
He felt his bindings weaken and he dared flex his fingers, the mirror was cool against them.
The Ancient Princess sped faster and on head on collision course for the bound one. Helpless she raced. On the cusp of the night they collided! The gilt-edged blades of her wings lacerated the meteor in two, shards of mirror rained down upon the Ancient Earth below. Their beauty gave birth to creative dreams of life unknown, star-like prisms of light protected the Earth from Darkness; whose refuge was ruined on that day of days.
Carbide felt the touch of the Ancient Princesses hands as she caught him on impact, thrust into each other they shared the same existence. Fused together by the shared love of their feelings for each other. Their senses awoke and melded to make the brightest light the Ancient Earth had ever witnessed.
The harbingers of doom were exiled the moment they collided, all feelings of sadness left man on that day. Love was born and the faceless warriors of doubt had no war to wage and knew they were beaten.
Together they ruled the Ancient Earth and bestowed joy and happiness upon it; hastened to love they remained engaged in the magic of each other’s hearts.

Patience, The Virtuous Maiden (Adam wrote this for Tammy)

Their entire life they ran towards each other, although they knew it not! Along the way committing their souls to the flame they were dancing with in that era. Each flame was held with care, nurtured as is if this flame was their lasting light. Yet every time they knew their flames were flawed, lacking the light and critical heat required to provide safe passage through their journey.

Meanwhile, Time kept marching forward, leaving them behind, he would not wait and as their flames faded, they required yet more effort than the era before; to catch Time up! He waited for no one, that was his ruling, he marched on and had never deviated from it since his creation.

Both of them doubted themselves and the course they’d charted, ‘why am i being punished?’ they lamented. ‘I need to find love!’ ‘She eludes me once more!! Desperately, they dusted themselves off and summoned all the strength they could and set about their perilous and lonely journey. So laden with traps and pitfalls, their path laid before them, of testing in the nature of Patience.

Why was Patience courting them?

She’d tested many Angels and Demons, but why them? What reason could she have to prey on two mortal creations? Was it for her own amusement?

The two moved quickly towards each other, yet they knew it not!

They had no relief to dance along the way, for Time himself dictated the pace and set about them with a fury that they’d never experienced before. Faster they ran, on their yet unknown collision course, all the time doubting their choices of turns at every junction. Be together they came! Staring at each other, they fell into each others arms and knew their questions were answered. Time stood still for a millisecond, shocked by the force at which they’d collided. He too had to make up for lost moments and set off again in unrelenting fashion.

Patience resembled jealousy and decided that she had not finished with the mortal coupling.
‘For you to be reborn a couple of such magnitude, I declare 9 months must pass! For your love to manifest itself and be born unto the world en masse, you must play my game, without a single deviation from my rules!!!’ she hissed with venom and vengeance.
The 2 were torn apart and cast aside 5000 miles, she baited their love and presented her companion Despair to them. Instantly, Despair was shunned and he flew at Patience with rage for unveiling him. ‘These 2 you present to me are not mortal! You tease me! They do not fear me!!’ with that he sort fairer game and left Patience to ponder his words. ‘Not mortal???’ she mused.

The months passed slowly because Time had not recovered fully, and stumbled in shock of what he’d witnessed. Never had he stopped before and he had liked what he’d seen, but feared it’s effect on him. Patience had found a new ally.

The 2 sent thoughts to each other over the clouds and through the sky, their messages were safest here, above Patience’s sight and out of range of here hearing. Messages of love rained upon each other for the term Patience had bestowed upon them. The time came when Patience knew she had not viewed these 2 correctly and thought maybe Despair was right. After 9 months had passed Patience admitted defeat and restored the coupling and blessed them as she retreated.
Free from the rigours of Time, Patience and Despair their Love became legendary and they were born immortal unto the world. They danced whilst cradling each others flame, which burnt brightly and with more warmth than they ever known before.

The Ancient Princess (Adam wrote this for Tammy)

She woke to find herself all flustered and confused, where was she? She wasn’t at all scared, far from it, she felt amazing; just not sure of herself. As her eye’s adjusted to the bright light that was flooding in through the barn window; she slowly recovered her memory from the night before. Where was he? She wondered with rising anxiety, “where are you?” she mouthed, with no more than a whisper in volume.

She rolled over on her makeshift bed, made of straw and a thick tartan blanket and her eye’s frantically scoured her surroundings. She looked around the room and eyed the beams of sunlight that dissected the loft into warm chambers of romance. She thought once more, ‘where is my love, my fancy? ‘ Her silk dress was torn at the back fastening and it prevented her from being able to cover herself without holding it up; she remembered how this happened and smiled uncontrollably.
Just then she startled as she heard approaching footsteps! She held her breath and crawled slowly to the loft hatch; she waited as the footsteps grew louder. Choking on her heart, that was now firmly rooted in her throat, she nervously anticipated who it was that may find her so far from the castle. If her father found out about her lustful nights with a peasant farmer, she feared he may take out his anger on her cherished lover. The lover she craved more than life itself, her forbidden love that consumed her so.

Just then her anxiety was released in a desperate gasp of breath as her heart’s content bounded through the opening looking upwards and said “where are you my ancient princess?”
