Adam’s Story

Hi this is me, Adam, at just 6 years old, blimey that’s one groovy shirt there mum 🙂

Wow!! This photo was taken along time ago, I’m now 39 years old and sporting a few wrinkles and several grey hairs lol.

I was born in a Germany where my dad was serving as a technician in the Royal Air Force, we lived in Germany on 2 occasions for about 6 years. They were very happy years and as kids we always had loads to do. The only drawback with being a child of a serviceman or woman is that you’re always upping sticks and moving. It was sad leaving our friends behind, but it certainly brings you out of your shell and broadens the mind to the world.

We finally settled in King’s Lynn when dad retired from the RAF and I’ve since spent most of my life here. I have a younger brother called Nick and he also lives in Kings Lynn. My mum and dad are separated, dad still lives in Lynn and my mum’s relatively close, about an hour up the road in Cambridge.

I’ve been working at Bespak as a toolmaker and recently as a team coach for the last 16 years, before that I studied and served an engineering apprenticeship in Cambridge. I lived in Cambridge for 3 years and then returned home when the company I worked for moved to Ely, so I commuted every day from King’s Lynn.

I was married to my previous partner for 6 years, but we were together for 11 and we share 2 wonderful sons, I’m the very proud father of Lewis 10 and Jack 8 🙂 They are great kids and have handled the separation of their parents with great character and maturity beyond their years.

My interests and hobbies are quite varied and seriously geeky!!

I love producing dance music on my laptop, mainly drum and bass these days, you can find most of my music here, feel free to download it, it’s all free!!!

I also have a passion for writing and have written for a local newspaper, our company newsletter and i write my own a blog called adamhad’em which I use to rant and rave about and ‘get things off me chest’.

Recently, I’ve started painting and although I have along way to go before giving up the day job lol, I really do enjoy the hobby, I find it’s a very good way to relax.

I also make and paint model miniatures figures.

The boys and I love fishing, camping, swimming along with regular trips to the movies, playing on the xbox and generally goofing around.

As a younger man I mainly played football at least once a week and although I never troubled the goalkeeper I maintained good fitness and had a great time with the lads. I also love snowboarding and being on the mountains although I’ve not been for a long time now, I still hope to return one day; it’s awesome!!!

So there you have it, my story in a nutshell, a little older, a little wiser maybe, (I’ll let my friends and family be the judge of that) and certainly still smiling!!
